A young couple here in Papamoa reached out after finding Floorical through Google and reading through our reviews. Their goal was simple: replace their existing carpet with something more pet-friendly and easier to live with day to day—without compromising on the look and feel of their home.

This one was all about making the process easy for a busy household.
With a full-on work and family schedule, the owners wanted a clear plan and minimal disruption — so we took care of the heavy lifting from the start. We handled the uplift and disposal of the existing carpet and vinyl, then undercut the existing skirting boards so the new floor could be fitted properly for a clean, seamless finish.
To keep everyday life running as normal as possible, we categorised the home into work zones and scheduled the install in a logical order. That way, they always knew which areas we were starting from, what would be completed each day, and how to prepare — without the whole house feeling like a construction site.

As with most real homes, there were a few challenges along the way.
A big part of the job was working around furniture and keeping everything organised as we moved through each zone. We also had to be mindful of the existing substrate underneath—once the old carpet and vinyl were lifted, it became clear there were areas that needed more attention than expected.
We carried out a solid amount of sanding and prep work, and we removed sections of water-damaged substrate to make sure the base was stable and ready for the new floor. No shortcuts—because the finished result is only as good as what’s underneath.
With the right prep and a staged plan, we were able to get everything back on track and install the new flooring with a clean finish, built to handle busy family life.
