What we did

• Pre-start planning: Advised the clients to uplift the existing flooring themselves to reduce costs and speed up our on-site time. Coordinated around the new kitchen timeline.
• Site protection & layout: Protected access ways, confirmed layout and expansion points, and set our working line from the back wall, so the family could put furniture back sooner.
• Subfloor prep:
  • Sanded high spots to remove minor peaks and ensure a flat, quiet floor.
  • Spot-checked moisture and stability, vacuumed thoroughly for dust-free adhesion/fit.
• Skirting & doorways:
  • Undercut existing skirting and door jambs for a clean, tucked finish (no bulky trims).
  • Checked architraves and transitions for neat, consistent lines.
• Underlay & acoustics: Installed quality underlay for comfort underfoot, sound reduction, and to support the laminate’s click system.
• Install method:
  • Began at the back wall and worked forward, so after the first few rows were down, the family could move their dining table back and keep living normally.
  • Staggered joints for strength and visual balance; kept expansion gaps to manufacturer spec all around the perimeter.
  • Set flush, colour-matched trims at carpet and slider transitions for a tidy, durable finish.
• Detailing & finishing:
  • Scribed neatly to irregular walls for tight lines.
  • Checked door clearances after install.
  • Final vacuum and microfibre wipe for a ready-to-live finish.
• Handover: Walk-through with care tips (cleaning, felt pads, humidity guidance) and product information.
